With four title fights on a single card and a fanbase hungry for elite competition, the event needed to look as premium as it felt. My role as designer and art director was to ensure PFL Lyon’s visual identity matched the scale and prestige of the main events - balancing championship-level polish with the energy and character of the region. The result was a campaign that felt elevated, powerful, and unmistakably European.

 

This wasn’t a background fight night - it was a defining moment in the evolution of European MMA. PFL Lyon represented the final chapter of the promotion’s regional European championships, bringing together rising local talent, established stars, and a home crowd eager to see their fighters succeed on an international stage.

Throughout the artwork, subtle homages to France and the city of Lyon anchor the campaign. From the gold prancing lion drawn from the city’s flag to scenic references woven into local marketing assets, every visual decision put Lyon front and center. The event filled LDLC Arena with 12,000 fans and reached audiences in more than 100 countries through global broadcast partners including ESPN and DAZN.

 

PFL Lyon stands as a personal favorite project - one that seamlessly blends local culture and talent with the prestige and gold of a championship-caliber event. It marked a transition point for the PFL in Europe, setting expectations for what comes next: large-scale, high-production title fights showcasing the very best talent the region has to offer.
