BATTLE OF THE GIANTS
In combat sports, sometimes bigger is truly better, so when it came time for the Professional Fighters League to debut the lineal heavyweight champion of the world, Francis Ngannou, it only made sense to see the Cameroonian-born “Predator” face off against the 6’7” Global Champion Renan Ferreria in the PFL's “Battle of the Giants” Pay-per-view Super Fight.

Acting as the Professional Fighters League’s second marquee “Super Fight” event, the “Battle of the Giants” marked a (literally) massive return to the sport for Francis Nagnnou, as the lineal heavyweight champion prepared to make his transition from the UFC to his new home with PFL.
However, this would be no small task. In fact this task would stand at 6’7” and hailing from the nation of Brazil in the form of PFL’s 2023 Global Heavyweight Champion Renan Ferreira. Ferreira was coming off a stunning knock-out victory over long-time Bellator Heavyweight king Ryan Bader, and now had the privilege of going toe-to-toe with the Baddest Man on the Planet, Francis Ngannou.
The “Battle of the Giants” marked one of the quite literally largest matchups in professional combat sports history, this legendary matchup of African power and Brazilan athletics immediately steered our marketing and creative teams to warn our viewers to “Brace for Impact” come fight night.
“Impact” was a guarantee between these two athletes, something that drove the team and me to develop a bright, high-energy visual language reminiscent of caution tape. As lead designer on this project, I was keen on pulling that narrative thread throughout all of our marketing, social, and even TV advertising so that whenever viewers saw yellow, they knew, it was time to “Brace for Impact”.
